Grants & Contracts Administration administers funds awarded to the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) from various federal and state agencies. Grant and contract agreements each have program requirements that must comply with regulations of each particular agency. Federal agencies include; U.S. Department of Interior (DOI), U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), U.S. Department of Education (DOE), U.S. Department of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Department of Agriculture (DOA) and U.S. Department of Health an Human Services (DHHS).
All applicable tribal laws, policies and procedures are administered accordingly as approved by tribal council.
The Grants & Contracts administration has successfully adapted to technological advances and requirements of major funding agencies to streamline implementation and compliance requirements. Funding from both federal and state agencies has enabled the tribal government to upgrade the Management Information System (MIS) for better efficiency and expediency, thereby, enabling programs to meet and comply with financial, procurement and personnel reporting requirements.
