The role of the Tribal Education Department (TED) is to ensure that all programs are administered properly and meet education performance standards, comply with Federal and State regulations and provide direction to meet the educational needs of the community.

Mission: The Tribal Education Department will provide quality program services and experiences that will promote and enhance the quality of life for the Gila River Indian Community.
The Tribal Education Department Administration is responsible for seven (6) programs:

- Head Start
- Special Services
- K –12 Division/JOM
- Off-Reservation Boarding School
- Student Services
