Department Description:
The Gila River Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation (DOCR) provides a secured correctional/detention facility to the Community twenty-four hours a day, three hundred sixty-five days a year for the custody of all Native American’s that have violated State, Federal and/or Tribal law within the Gila River Indian Community. As a full service facility, DOCR houses a pretrial population awaiting adjudication, as well as, maintains custody of inmates remanded into DOCR by the Tribal Courts upon case adjudication. DOCR also provides rehabilitation / program services to all inmates/detainees in custody for education and rehabilitation during their sentence.
