SACATON-On Apr. 29, it was Christmas at the Residential Programs for Youth.

Members of the Gila River Prevention Coalition, including its chair, Talia Porter, unloaded two vehicles (not sleighs) of goodies for the children at the Residential Youth Home.

The Prevention Coalition donated school uniforms for the upcoming school year.

The Coalition also made donations of educational games, books, and toys for all ages. The youngest residents seemed to have the most fun opening the giant boxes that housed kid-sized furniture. The giant packing boxes also served as entertainment!

This summer the Coalition will also help out at the Youth Home by providing life skills classes and taking the kids on field trips. A few planned trips include a local water park, the Phoenix Children’s Museum, and Bounce U.

Talia got down and played with the little ones who couldn’t get enough of their new furniture.
