About 200 GRIC elders were invited to the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa for an afternoon of games, food, music and prizes. The Sheraton along with the GRIC Senior Team hosted the Elder’s Celebration on July 25, 2012 in the Komatke Ballroom. The Senior Team consists of the Sheraton’s community member associates.

“We want to do something fun for the elders,” said Bunty Ahamed, General Manager, Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa.

This is the second Elder’s Celebration and the resort plans to make it a tradition. “We want this to be an event forever,” Ahamed said.

Connie Nelson, Security Manager, said the Sheraton organizes events such as the Elder’s Celebration throughout the year to give back to the community. Nelson said this event is a great way to honor the elders. “We just try to service them as much as we can and enjoy their presence,” Nelson said.

The Elder’s Celebration consisted of a luncheon and Bingo. The invitation was extended to 55+ community members.
