sundust_us_marine.jpgPrivate First Class Noah L. Sundust graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California on Friday, September 19, 2008. He was selected as the Series Honorman for Series 2153.

In achieving this distinction, he was in direct competition against all of the other recruits in  his Series throughout each phase of recruit training. At the conclusion
of all testing and after close evaluation by his drill instructors and series officers, Noah was considered to be the recruit who had displayed the highest degree of skill, military
knowledge, and leadership potential in his Series.

In recognition of Noah's accomplishments, he was presented with a plaque from the Marine Corps Association and a Certificate of Commendation for his achievements. His deeds will also be published
in the Leatherneck Magazine, a magazine for Marines. After 10 days of leave, he
returned to Camp Pendleton for 29 days of Combat Training. Then he will go to 29 Palms for MOS Communication School. After that, Sundust could be sent to Afghanistan.

Noah is a graduate of Casa Grande Union High School, class of 2008. He graduated with a 3.2 GPA. He was the section leader for the drumline in the Casa Grande High School Band and received an award for this accomplishment. He also was in the Symphony band, the Jazz band, the X-treme Brass ensemble and the high school marching band.

Sundust took seven years of martial arts and is a third degree brown belt in Chinese Kenpo Karate. He was also an Alter Server at St. Anthony's of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande since the fourth grade until he was a senior in high school.

Noah is the son of Mike and Barbara Sundust. Noah's father Mike also served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. Mike is from District 6 and is now living in Casa Grande. He is employed in the Community with the Facilities Maintenance/Building & Safety Department. His wife Barbara, teaches 8th grade at the Casa Grande Middle School.

Together they have 2 sons, Mikhail and Noah. Mikhail is a sophomore at the University of Arizona, Tucson. Mikhail did an internship during the summer with the Office of Water Rights. Noah'sGrandparents are Emil and Eleanor Nelson of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Eugene and Rose (Shelde) Sundust of Districts 7 & 6.

The family is proud of what their son, Noah has accomplished and support him (and Mikhail) in their efforts to become contributing citizens to their community. His representation has brought recognition to these communities as well. Semper Fidelis!
