SACATON-VHM Alumni Association President, Moranda Morago, was happy with the results of her first Alumni Association event. Morago, a freshman at Central Arizona College and the daughter of District Four community member Rondell Norris, said the event she helped to organize, raised almost three hundred dollars for the school.
“I was really happy that our event could help to raise money for the students,” Morago stated. The car wash money will be used to support transportation (gas for busses) and for healthy breakfast and afternoon snacks for the students.
The Vechij Himdag Alternative School board came out to support the alumni with a snack and soft drink sale during the carwash. “The fresh fruit and healthy snacks really keep the kids going – they have a very long day 8:00Am to 4:30PM.” Angie Wiltshire informed the parents and community members who came out to support the school.
“We really want to thank everyone who came out to get their car washed and supported the students at VHM.” Morago says other Alumni Association events are being planned to help the school. Look for flyers!
